PART OF AN EXHILARATING DRIVING EXPERIENCE IS
DRIVING IN
CONTROL
The
JaguarDrive Control™ system on every 2012 Jaguar model features Winter
Mode, a sophisticated setting that helps maintain traction and control
on snowy, wet roads. So you can enjoy the drive, even in challenging
weather
conditions.
When
activated, Winter Mode transforms the way the car responds in slippery
conditions: The engine, transmission and Dynamic Stability Control work
together to help avoid slipping and skidding, maximizing available
traction where the tires meet the
road.
JaguarDrive
Control gives the driver the ability to fine-tune the dynamic
characteristics of the vehicle. In addition to the default "normal"
mode, drivers can select Dynamic Mode, for a more engaging drive, or
Winter Mode, for more assured traction and control when the weather
turns nasty.
ENGINE
Winter Mode dampens the
accelerator pedal response for more progressive control, which can help
the driver maintain traction on slippery
pavement.
TRANSMISSION
Winter Mode also alters the gear-change strategy,
again for more gradual responses, to further improve control in slippery
conditions. In addition, the transmission will start in second gear
when pulling away on level ground, which helps avoid wheelspin upon
initial
acceleration.
DYNAMIC STABILITY
CONTROL
The thresholds of the
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), which integrates traction and stability
control, are altered in Winter Mode, as the system monitors tire
rotation and vehicle movement. If DSC senses loss of traction or
skidding, it can brake individual wheels and control engine torque,
helping the Jaguar driver keep moving with control and
confidence.
